Gardone Riviera was historically one of the first and most important resorts on Lake Garda. The elegant hotels and villas with their vibrant gardens still reflect that history today. Gardone is often referred to as the garden city, a name well deserved as the microclimate in the area gives life to an amazing abundance of plants and flowers.

There are a number of places in Gardone where it is possible to hold your legal civil ceremony or if you prefer a symbolic one.

The town hall of Gardone is one of the settings where your civil wedding ceremony could take place. It is in the old village of Gardone Sopra (Higher Gardone) a short uphill walk from the lakeside resort. The attractive town hall building is fronted by charming gardens with a fountain and gazebo where group photos can be taken after the ceremony. The ceremony room itself is quite unique with it’s almost medieval décor and minstrels gallery. The wooden floors and panelled ceiling give a very warm atmosphere to weddings performed here. There is room for approximately 50 guests sitting and room for more still standing.

Alternatively the license has been granted to a number of locations within Gardone where you could also hold your ceremony among them the Vittoriale degli Italiani or the Hellar Botanical Gardens and a number of the hotels in the resort. These locations allow outdoor ceremonies in unique settings to allow you to make your wedding ceremony even more of a personal choice.

Gardone is on the western shores on Lake Garda, a 40-minute drive from the A4 motorway which conveniently leads directly to Bergamo and Verona airports in an hour and the Milan airports (Linate and Malpensa) are about 2hrs away, traffic depending.

As well as Gardone itself the local town of Salò is also within close proximity (just a 20 minute walk) and so between them there is a wide range of accommodation on offer that can suit all tastes and budgets.
