The town of Salò has to be the jewel in the crown of Lake Garda. Set on a magnificent sweeping bay this medieval town became a haven of elegance when it flourished under the Venetians. The new stylish marina and beautiful lakeside promenade, which runs along the whole length of the town and is incidentally the longest promenade on the lake, make it the perfect place for an elegant Italian destination wedding. In terms of the town itself there are many lakeside bars in which you can enjoy an “aperitivo” and lazily watch the world go by, as well as fabulous Italian boutiques to browse in and first-class restaurants for fine dining.: Salò really has everything for the most discerning bride and groom.
The Town Hall, set on the lakeside in the pedestrian area of the town, is actually the ‘Palazzo della Magnifica Patria’ which dates back to the 14th century when Salò was the capital of ‘Magnifica Patria’. It is a beautiful old building with an elegant “loggia” underneath and many stunning original frescos inside.

The “Sala Consigliare”
If you are looking for a dramatic entrance to your wedding ceremony this could be just the ticket! A wonderful marble staircase leads up and into this impressive room which boosts a high ceiling with spectacular frescos. Situated on the first floor of the town hall this room can accommodate seating for a maximum of 60 guests with ample room for another 40 guests standing.
The “Sala dei Provveditori”
Also situated on the first floor, is an imposing room with fantastic picture windows looking out over the bay of Salò. It can easily seat 80 guests with standing room for more. This room is often used for exhibitions and is therefore not always available.
The “Sala Guinta”
This intimate room is situated at the front of the Town Hall and its large windows offer superb views over the Gulf of Salò. It can seat a maximum of 8 guests.
The Mayors Office – the Mayor of Salò will open her office for weddings where there are just the happy couple and witnesses present.
This selection of options within the Town Hall means that there is a solution to suit every couple and their plans for the day. The lakefront of Salò also offers a range of great possibilities once the ceremony is over. You could, for example, raise a champagne toast with your guests and just enjoy the view whilst everyone relaxes and mingles or alternatively even take a boat trip around the bay and across to the “Isola del Garda” to savor this wonderful coastline from the water.

Salò is on the western shores of Lake Garda, a 30-minute drive from the A4 motorway which conveniently leads directly to Bergamo and Verona airports in 40 minutes and the Milan airports (Linate and Malpensa) in 1h45mins. The airport at Montichiari (Verona/Brescia) is also only 50 minutes from the resort.
As well as Salò itself the local towns of Gardone and San Felice are also within close proximity (10 mins). Between all these super resorts there is a wide range of accommodation on offer that can suit all tastes and budgets.

Your ceremony can take place from Monday to Saturday. The indoor venue at Salò and the climate in general on the south of the lake mean that this is also a great location for a Spring or Autumn wedding. As a town in its own right Salò also still has plenty to offer in the low season. This resort will particularly suit anyone who would like a flat resort as the town hall and most of the hotels are close to the center and don’t involve any uphill walking.
